The Key Laboratory of Materials Physics, Institute of Solid State Physics(ISSP), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), derives from the Key Laboratory of Internal Frictions and Defects in Solids, which was founded in 1985 by the former academician T.S Kê who is an international famous physicist on the metal physics in 1985. Academician T.S. Kê is one of the foundation people of the international research on internal frictions, and he was awarded R.F.
